Bloom's Taxonomy Question Stems

Questioning at a higher level encourages students to explore deeper understandings of the concepts being taught.

As a visual reminder of higher level questions use question stem cards and put them on a ring. The question stems are leveled using Bloom's Taxonomy. Each level of Bloom's Taxonomy is on a different color index card. This helps to quickly identify question stems to use during a lesson.

When doing whole or small group instruction, use the cards to differentiate the type of questions I am asking students to foster deeper conversations. Click on the image and get a copy of the question stems from the lowest level of understanding (remembering) to the highest level (creating).

This set of Bloom's Taxonomy posters makes it easy to remind students to gear up for higher order thinking. A desk tent and bookmark are included as visual tools for students to reflect on their level of thinking.
